Workshops & Internships

Students

Averroes workshops

A way for students to learn about the work local organizations are doing for the community while gaining hands-on experience and real-world skills.Put what they learn into action by volunteering in local community organizations, including:

Internship

In their senior year, students choose an internship to gain real-world experience, acquire new skills, build their resumes, and network with potential employers. Internships provide valuable insights into different career roles, allowing students to learn from professionals, explore workplace culture, and develop mentorships. They may also earn college credits or certifications during the experience.

Mentorship

In their junior year, Averroes students are paired with a mentor in their field of interest. Research shows that mentoring by caring, competent adults has a significant impact on young people. Students in long-term, well-structured mentoring programs tend to have higher GPAs, are more likely to attend college or post-secondary training, and report improved social and family relationships.
